Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (9-4, 2-1 Great Midwest) rolled over visiting Ohio Dominican University Panthers (4-9, 1-3 Great Midwest) in three straight (25-13, 25-18, 25-16) at Trojan Fieldhouse.
THE SERIES
The Trojans have a 6-4 advantage on the Panthers in the series. The Trojans have won two in a row.
THE FLOW
The Trojans jumped out early and were never threatened in the opening set. Tied at 2-2 the Trojans pulled ahead 11-4 and build the lead to 11 (21-10) before taking the set by 12.
Trevecca fell behind 3-1 in the second set but broke a tie at 8-8 and outscored the Panthers 17-10 over the rest of the set for a comfortable seven-point margin of victory.
Trevecca eased ahead early in the third set and were up 6-3. The Panthers never closed the gap closer than two the rest of the way.
THE NOTES
Ellie Buffler led the team with nine kills while Emilee McDonald had eight. Three additional Trojans contributed five or more kills. The team hit .421 for the match with 38 kills and only six errors against 76 attacks. In the second set, Trevecca hit .591 (14-1-22). The team combined for seven service aces with Katie Crutchfield leading the way with three.
The sweep is the first for the Trojans over the Panthers since 2020.
UP NEXT
On Saturday, it is Cedarville University facing the Trojans at 1 PM. The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series 16-6, but the Trojans have won two in a row.
