Box Score PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (3-2-1, 1-1 Great Midwest) continued its Great Midwest Athletic Conference schedule on Thursday, falling to Ursuline College (3-1-1, 1-1-1 Great Midwest) 2-1 on the road.
THE SERIES
The Trojans still have the advantage in the all-time series, 9-8. The Trojans won last year's meeting 3-1 at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
THE MATCH
Playing for the first time in a week, the Trojans took advantage of being well rested. However, Ursuline, who played just five days ago, looked sharper early on. Ursuline tallied just 7:07 into the match on a shot by Joyce Fallon. The Trojans had a chance in the 19th minute when Makena Schlosser had a shot, but Ursuline made the stop.
Ursuline kept the pressure on in the second half as they extended their lead in the 57thminute on a shot by Odessa Strizzi to make it 2-0. The Trojans responded with their own shots, forcing the Arrows on their heels, but they could not score. They broke through in the 86th minute when Ryann Anderson cut the deficit to 2-1. But time ran out on the Trojans rally.
