Box Score HUNTSVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (0-0-1) opened the 2022 campaign on the road with a non-conference draw at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (0-0-1). The Trojans and Chargers played to a 2-2 draw on Thursday at Charger Park. Abbigail Legg moved into a tie for third all-time (NCAA Era) in assists with her ninth career assist.
The Purple and White took the lead near the midway point of the first period with a Makena Schlosser goal in the 20th minute. Gigi Ariola made it a 2-0 Trojan lead with a goal in the 29th minute. Abbigail Legg picked up the assist on the Ariola goal.
Carmen Endicott scored both of the Charger goals. The first was in the 35th minute and the final tally came in the 89th minute, denying the Trojans a road win to open the season. The final score came on a corner kick and Endicott found the ball free in front of the net and buried it.
Delayna Holman saved five of the seven shots on goal.
Adriana Wright played the full 90 minutes in goal for UAH, posting five saves and navigating six corner kicks by the Trojans.
The Trojans finished with 12 shots and eight on goal. TNU had six corner kicks to four for UAH.
The Chargers ended the game with 13 shots overall and seven shots on goal. The Trojans return to Nashville and will #DEFENDtheHILL for the first time on Saturday when they host Lincoln Memorial University at 2 PM.
