SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The series is tied 5-5 following today's split, with the Trojans getting their first win in the series at Findlay yesterday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE:
A three-run home run off the bat of Cam Farrar put the Oilers up in the bottom of the first, then Farrar added a solo home run in the third inning to put the hosts up 4-0. It proved to be a mountain too high for the Trojans to climb as for the second game in a row the Oilers starter silenced the Trojan bats. Jordan Becker pitched a complete game, scattering five hits and striking out nine Trojans.
GAME TWO:
The Trojan offense continued to struggle for a third consecutive game. The Trojans managed to grab the lead 1-0 in the top of the fifth with a clutch two-out single off the bat of Shawn Wallwork, scoring Daniel Lucas. The Oilers evened the game 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth with a sac fly.
Trevecca regained the lead in the top of the eighth taking advantage of a pair of wild pitches for a 2-1 lead. The Trojans added an insurance run in the ninth, again with the help of a wild pitch, which ended up being the game-winning tally. Trevecca gifted Findlay a run in return of the favor by allowing a run on a wild pitch.
Brooks Helton (4-0) came in to start the seventh in relief of starter Alex Clouthier and the game tied 1-1. Helton allowed just two hits, but no walk or runs.
