Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University softball (28-15, 12-8 Great Midwest) swept Friday's doubleheader against Lake Erie College (12-26, 7-13 Great Midwest) by winning 3-0 in game one and 8-0 (five innings) in-game two at Trojan Softball Complex.
Trojan pitcher Alex Behnke recorded a no-hitter in game two and was a hit batter away from a perfect game, the first no-hitter thrown by the Trojans since Haley Fagan on April 1st, 2016 against Cedarville.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE:
Game one was a quiet affair for the most part. Neither team was able to capitalize on offense for the first few innings. Then, the Trojans scored the game's only runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Her eighth of the season, Kendall Andrews hit a two-run home run to give the Trojans the 2-0 lead. Later in the inning, Carly Sperlich hit a single into right field with two out, which allowed Alyssa Triner to run home for the score. Lake Erie came very close to getting on the board and potentially taking the lead in the top of the fourth inning as they would load the bases. But with two out, Trojan pitcher Ashlan Sensing struck out the final batter to end the inning and escape with the shutout intact. Sensing would not allow Lake Erie to score while holding Lake Erie to only four hits all game.
GAME TWO:
The Trojans started game two off with all the momentum, as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Kendall Andrews hit her second home run of the day, and her ninth of the season, which also brought in Sydney McCormick and Anna Bennett for scores. Later in the inning, Malone Thrift hit an RBI single with two out, which brought in Alyssa Triner to make it 4-0. Then in the third inning, the Trojans added to their lead when Gracie Kirby hit a single into center field, which scored Lenna Robinson. Then Jaylah Edmondson hit an RBI double that scored Kaylee Adams. Lastly, Anna Bennett hit a sacrifice groundout to score Megan Walker to extend the Trojan's lead to 7-0. Then in the bottom of the fifth inning, Anna Bennett hit an RBI single that brought in Megan Walker for the score and forced the run rule. Lake Erie was kept in check and could not record a hit the entire game as Trojan pitcher Alex Behnke pitched all five innings and recorded a no-hitter.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES- GAME ONE:
- Kendall Andrews went 1-2 with a home run, two RBIs, and one run scored.
- Anna Bennett went 2-3 with a double and one run scored.
- Carly Sperlich went 1-3 with an RBI.
- Ashlan Sensing (14-7) pitched a complete game and did not allow a run on only four hits while striking out three batters.

The Trojans will host Ursuline College (11-21, 9-9 Great Midwest) for Senior Day and the final double-header of the regular season on Saturday, starting at 12:00 PM.
