Trevecca Softball | Trojans Fall To Panthers In Sweep

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – Trevecca Nazarene University softball (24-15, 8-8 Great Midwest) was swept in Saturday's double-header against Ohio Dominican University (25-13, 15-1 Great Midwest) by falling 5-2 in game one and 8-0 in-game two (six innings) while on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME ONE:

Ohio Dominican got a strong start as they scored four runs in the first three innings. The Trojan's offense struggled early on in the game as they registered two hits in the first three innings. Then in the fourth inning, the Trojans doubled their hit total as they got on the board. Gracie Kirby hit a single that scored Kendall Andrews. Then Kelsey McPeters, who was pinch-hitting for Kaylee Adams, hit an RBI single that brought Sydney McCormick to cut the Trojan's deficit to 4-2. However, Ohio Dominican tallied a solo home run to make it 5-2. After the fourth inning, the Trojan offense was stumped by Ohio Dominican pitcher Sydney Long, as they were held to only one more hit for the rest of the game.

GAME TWO:

Game two was a very quiet affair as neither team could get anything going for the first four innings. However, it was the Panthers that broke through in the fourth inning. Ohio Dominican hit two runs in the fourth inning to take the lead. They doubled their run total in the fifth inning, making the game 4-0. Ohio Dominican held the Trojans to only three hits in the game while they tallied 12. Then in the sixth inning, Ohio Dominican got rolling as they scored four more runs to force the run rule and an 8-0 win.
