Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – No. 9 (NCBWA) Trevecca Nazarene University baseball (32-12, 17-9 Great Midwest) split its doubleheader against Cedarville University (18-19, 12-9 Great Midwest), winning 21-10 in game one and falling 11-8 in game two (seven innings) while at home on Friday.
Braden Odom became the new NCAA Era Baseball Home Run King. He now owns the single-season record with 20 home runs and is the career champion with 35 career dingers.
Hunter Newman, who hit 32 career home runs from 2013-15 (three seasons), held the NCAA Era career home run mark.

Odom is nearing the all-time (NAIA/NCAA) single-season mark - including NAIA and NCAA. The all-time (NAIA/NCAA) Trevecca career mark is still a ways off.
Mario Campos is the all-time Trevecca single-season home run champion with 21 in 2001 (NAIA Era). Roger Brown is the all-time Trevecca career home run king with 49 from 1992-95 (NAIA Era).

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
Trevecca is 36-5 in the all-time series with Cedarville. The Trojans were on a 24-game win streak against Cedarville prior to the game two loss on Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE:
The Trojans came out swinging in the first inning with a 5-run first. Shawn Wallwork hit a double to bring in Braden Odom for the first score. Then Bryant Goolsby hit a double scoring Shawn Wallwork and Roland Ryan. David Milam added a double driving in Bryant Goolsby. Trevecca's first five men to the plate reached base. Milam later scored on a sacrifice ground out by Zeke Lecomte to make it 5-0. Cedarville responded with a four-run second inning to cut the Trojan lead to one. The Trojans acted in kind with a three-run second inning. Roland Ryan hit a solo home run, his 17th of the season. Then Zeke Lecomte hit a two-RBI single to make it 8-4. Cedarville added a run in the third inning for an 8-5 score. The Trojans added runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings - a combined seven runs for a 15-5 lead. A two-RBI single by Roland Ryan and a two-RBI single from Shawn Wallwork highlighted the three innings. In the sixth, Shawn Wallwork hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot to make it 17-5. Cedarville continued pressing with a three-run seventh. Braden Odom kept the Trojan's offense going with a two-run home run, his 19th of the season, to make it 19-8. Cedarville added two more runs in the eighth to cut the lead down. But Zeke Lecomte hit a two-run home run to make it 21-10 in the eighth to put the game away.
GAME TWO:
Cedarville came out strong in game two with a four-run first inning. Braden Odom hit an inside-the-park home run, his 20th of the season, to get the Trojans on the board in the first. Then in the second inning, TNU's Logan West hit a single, driving in Zeke Lecomte. Then Roland Ryan hit a two-run home run, his 18th of the season, to tie the game at 4-4. Cedarville added a run in the fourth to take the lead back. Then in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Trojans took the lead when Bryant Goolsby hit a two-run single pushing Shawn Wallwork and Roland Ryan across home plate to make it 6-5. Cedarville turned the game in their favor with four runs combined in the fifth and sixth innings to make it 9-6. Cedarville extended their lead in the seventh with a two-run home run for an 11-6 advantage. The Trojans attempted to rally in the bottom of the seventh but came up with just three of the needed five runs to tie.
