HARROGATE, Tenn. – The No. 7 (NCBWA) / No. 28 (Collegiate Baseball Newspaper) Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (31-11, 16-8 Great Midwest) lost to Lincoln Memorial University (26-15, 14-6 SAC) 12-4 on the road Tuesday.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

The Railsplitters won their third consecutive game against the Trojans and lead the all-time series, 4-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Despite Braden Odom leading off the game reaching second via an error, the Trojans managed just a single run in the frame as Shawn Wallwork smashed RBI number 33 of the season to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead after three outs. Lincoln Memorial quickly clapped back with a four-hit, three-run first inning to take a 3-1 lead. After two quick outs in the top of the second, the Trojans managed to send the next four batters to the basepaths highlighted by Braden Odom's Great Midwest Athletic Conference-leading 18th home run of the season. The game remained tied at 3-3 until an RBI triple from the Railsplitters gave the hosts the lead for good. LMU's 4-3 lead through three innings quickly escalated to 8-3 after four innings and 11-3 through five complete. Henry Mosley's double in the seventh brought in one more run for the Trojans, but the Railsplitters got the run back in the eighth with a solo home run and hung on for the 12-4 victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Both Shawn Wallwork (2-3) and Henry Mosley (2-5) produced RBI doubles to left field to help the Trojans early.
• Braden Odom went yard once again, collecting his team and 18th home run of the season with a two-run shot to right field in the second inning.
• A bullpen day on the mound as a total of six Trojans took the rubber, as it was Lee Cunningham (1-1) who took the loss. Cunningham tossed 1.2 innings while allowing one run off three hits.

UP NEXT

The Trojans host Cedarville University (17-18, 11-8 Great Midwest) for a four-game series on Friday and Saturday with game one on Friday starting at 2:00 PM.
