Trevecca Softball | Findlay Sweeps Trojans With Walk-Off

FINDLAY, Ohio. – Trevecca Nazarene University softball (22-13, 6-6 Great Midwest) were swept in Saturday's double-header against the University of Findlay (29-9 13-2 Great Midwest) by falling 4-1 in game one and 11-10 in game two (eight innings) while on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME ONE:

The Trojans got off to a good start as they took the early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Sydney McCormick hit a single that brought in Lenna Robinson for the score. However, following the first inning, the Trojan offense struggled. Findlay took advantage as they got on the board in the third inning and took the lead in the fourth. The Trojans were held to only three hits the entire game, with all three coming in the first inning. 

GAME TWO:

The Trojans came out strong for game two as they tallied four runs in the first inning. Kendall Andrews hit a single that brought in Lenna Robinson and Malone Thrift for scores. Then Sydney McCormick hit a double that scored Anna Bennett. Katie Brooks hit a single that brought in Sydney McCormick for the score to make it 4-0. Findlay responded with a run in the bottom of the first. But the Trojans continued to get runs in the second. Anna Bennett hit a double that brought in Lenna Robinson and Malone Thrift. Later in the inning, Carly Sperlich hit a triple that scored Kendall Andrews and Anna Bennett. Lastly, Alyssa Triner hit a single that brought Sperlich in to make it 9-1. Findlay would not be put away as they tallied four runs in the bottom of the third inning to cut the deficit to 9-5. The Trojans added a run in the fifth inning when Sydney McCormick hit a double to bring in Kendall Andrews for the score. In the sixth inning, Findlay responded with two runs to make it 10-7. Findlay tied the game up in the bottom of the seventh on a three-run home run. Findlay would walk-off in the eighth inning.

The Trojans stay on the road as they take on Cedarville (18-13, 3-7 Great Midwest) for a double-header on Friday starting at 2:00 PM.
