SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

Lee University leads the all-time series 38-11 and had won all seven meetings since both teams moved to NCAA Division II play. Trevecca's last meeting with the Flames was a 15-14 win by Lee on April 9, 2019, at Jackson Field. The Flames lead the NCAA Era series 7-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME ONE:

Lee, who came into the game hot winning seven of their last eight, continued with their sizzling bats jumping out to a 4-0 lead with a four-run first inning. After the first inning, both team's pitchers settled in until the Trojans broke through with a three-run fourth making it a 4-3 Lee lead. The Trojan fourth started with a Jordan Jackson single, then Roland Ryan mashed his 16th home run of the season to make it 4-2. Later in the inning with two outs, Bryant Goolsby crushed his seventh home run of the season to make it 4-3. Lee answered the Trojan outburst with four more runs over the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to extend their lead to 8-3. In the eighth inning, the Trojans began to apply pressure again but got just one run out of a bases-loaded opportunity. Lee walked Roland Ryan with the bases loaded, bringing in Logan West for the score. The Trojans saved the best for last, literally in the top of the ninth. After David Milam and Logan West reached, Shawn Wallwork hit a two-RBI single making it an 8-6 Lee lead. Roland Ryan reached on an opposite-field single setting up Braden Odom for the dramatic finish. Odom hit a no-doubter. The three-run home was his 12th of the season, bringing Brandon Hauswald (pinch-running for Ryan) and Shawn Wallwork to take a 9-8 lead.

Alex Deriggi (1-1) pitched two innings, the seventh and eighth, to earn his first win of the season. In the bottom of the ninth, Jack Keele struck out the side to seal the win for the Trojans and pick up his seventh save of the year.
