OWENSBORO, Ky. – No. 4 (College Baseball Newspaper)/ No. 7 (NCBWA) Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (15-3) split Monday's doubleheader against Kentucky Wesleyan College (1-15), 17-12 in game one (seven innings), and 10-7 in game two, while on the road.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

The Trojans have the all-time series lead 19-13. The Trojans win this season's series 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME ONE: 

Game one was an offensive shootout, with the Panthers getting the early 1-0 lead. The Trojans took the 2-1 lead in the top of the second inning on a David Milam two-run home run. However, the Panthers responded with four runs in the second inning to take the lead. Both teams traded runs in the third inning. Then the Panthers had an offensive outburst of eight runs in the fourth inning to make it 14-4. The Trojans attempted to rally as they scored eight runs over the fifth and sixth innings to come within two runs. Two Roland Ryan home runs highlighted the stretch, which resulted in four runs scored. Braden Odom and Bryant Goolsby both hit two-run home runs as well. However, the Trojan rally would come up short as the Panthers scored three more runs in the sixth to extend their lead. 

GAME TWO: 

Game two was another offensive shootout, and against the Panthers struck first with two runs in the second inning. The Trojans responded with five runs in the third inning. Jordan Jackson and Logan West would score on a throwing error by Kentucky Wesleyan. Then Braden Odom hit a two-run home run into center field. Later in the inning, with two out, Bryant Goolsby hit a solo home run into left-center field to make it 5-2. In the fourth inning, Jordan Jackson extended the Trojan's lead with a two-run home run into center field. The Panthers cut the deficit to 7-4 after a pair of solo home runs. Then in the seventh inning, Roland Ryan hit his third home run on the day, which also brought in Braden Odom to make it 9-4. The Panthers would not go away as they hit a three-run home run to cut their deficit down to two. Then in the ninth inning, Logan West scored on a fielder's choice on a single by Shawn Wallwork to make it 10-7. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE- GAME ONE

• Roland Ryan went 3-4 with two home runs and four RBIs with two runs scored
• Braden Odom went 2-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored
• David Milam went 3-3 with two RBIs and a run scored

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE- GAME TWO

• Jordan Jackson went 2-4 with a home run, a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored
• Braden Odom went 2-5 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored
• Bryant Goolsby went 1-3 with a home run, an RBI, and a run scored
• Alex Clouthier (4-0) pitched 6.1 innings while allowing seven runs on nine hits while striking out two batters
