HOW IT HAPPENED
After trailing by eight runs in the opening game, the Trojan bats quickly jumped on St. Cloud. Lenna Robinson led off the bottom of the first with a single and Alyssa Triner brought her home with a two-run home run to left field. Trojan starter Hannah Caffey (4-1) allowed just two hits in the first two innings as the Trojans behind her plated four more runs in the bottom of the second. With two outs, a wild pitch brought in Robinson for her second run. With the bases loaded, Anna Bennett connected for a two-run single to centerfield. A double steal recorded the final out of the second, but not before Malone Thrift scored on the play to give the Trojans a 6-0 lead. St. Cloud cut into the Trevecca lead in the fifth, but the Huskies only managed four in the frame. The Trojans got two back in the bottom half of the inning when Sydney McCormick sent a ball over the left-field fence for a two-run bomb to finish off the 8-4 win.
