NASHVILLE - David Suddeth, who finished his career in the Purple and White with 3,004 career points, learned Thursday (January 27, 2022) he is the first Trevecca Nazarene University student-athlete elected to the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
During a halftime ceremony to honor Suddeth and fellow Trevecca Legend Jennifer Wilson, Brad Willis, Executive Director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, surprised Suddeth with news he is a 2022 Inductee of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
Suddeth is the second member of the 2022 class. Former Tennessee Titan defensive end Jevon Kearse was announced as the first on January 21.
The three-time NAIA All-American played for the Trojans from 1988-1992. Suddeth was not only was a prolific scorer, but he grabbed 993 rebounds (422 offensive rebounds), dished out 490 assists, claimed 276 steals, and blocked 92 shots.
Playing for TNU hall of fame coach Frank Wilson, Suddeth averaged 14.7 points per game his freshmen season and increased his scoring each season. He averaged 24.4 per game as a sophomore, 25.3 as a junior, and topped out with 27 points per game as a senior.
The Trojans all-time leading scorer is in the Trevecca Hall of Fame, going in with the 1997 class. He entered the Trevecca Hall of Fame with Mac Heaberlin, J. Dwight Ragsdale, Todd Welch, and Carol Ernest Schneidmiller.
Information regarding tickets for the 2022 Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, presented by the Tennessee Titans, will be announced at a later date.
