Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (1-0, 0-0 Great Midwest) opened the season with a resounding 4-1 win over Asbury University (0-1) on Saturday at the Trevecca Soccer Complex.

THE SERIES
Trevecca won for the third time in the eight-match series. Asbury now leads 4-3-1 all-time.
THE MATCH
Trevecca scored in the 7th minute with a goal from Michael Martey with an assist from Michael Jones at 6:09. Tadg McEvoy added to the lead, essentially scoring the game winner, in the 23rd minute at 22:24. Shane Cronin earned the assist. Ben Singer (37:21) and Michael Jones (60:29) also scored for the Trojans. Nash Rust was credited with the assist on the Singer goal.
Asbury scored their loan goal in the 60th minute, just a bit more than a minute before the Trojans final tally.
DETAILS
The game served as the Trojans first match of the year after their meeting with Shorter was postponed earlier in the week due to COVID protocol.
Adan Gonzales started in goal and produced a clean sheet in the first half. Tyler Delgado sat in goal the final 45 minutes.
