Trevecca Women's Soccer | Trojans Remain Unbeaten in Great Midwest Play

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (5-2-2, 4-0-1 Great Midwest) tied with Tiffin University (4-5-2, 4-4-2 Great Midwest) 1-1, at Paradiso Field on Thursday. It is the first time this season the Trojans did not claim three points with a win in Great Midwest play, but TNU did add a point to their conference-leading 13 points.

THE SERIES   

The Trojans are still undefeated against Tiffin, bringing the all-time series to 3-0-1. 

THE MATCH 

Trevecca continued their strong play by recording the game's first four shots on goal. Trevecca continued to pile on shots, but it was Tiffin's Hannah Rittenhouse who broke through with a goal on Tiffin's second shot on goal of the match in the 17th minute. 

Following the Dragon's goal, Trevecca continued to lead the shot category 10-8, but the Trojans did not find the back of the Dragon nets and trailed at the half for the first time this conference season. 

Coming out of the half, the Trojans continued to press to get on the board, but Tiffin goalkeeper Malea Nelson stopped all of the Trojan attempts. Tiffin's Ellie Adams received a yellow card five minutes into the second half. 

The Trojans broke through with an equalizer from Katelyn Keogh, who pushed a shot past Malea Nelson with less than five minutes remaining in regulation. She was assisted by Ryann Anderson on the goal.  

Through two overtime periods, neither squad could get a shot past the opposing goalkeeper, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE  

  • The Trojans trailed at halftime for the first time during G-MAC play this season.  
  • Katelyn Keogh scored the lone Trojan goal, her fourth of the year. 
  • Keogh is the team leader with four goals. 
  • Keogh had four shots, two on goal, one made it to the back of the nets.
    Keogh and Abbigail Legg led the team with nine points each. 
  • Ryann Anderson picked up her first assist of the year. 
  • The Trojans remain undefeated in conference play.
  • Delayna Holman had 10 saves on 11 shots against.

 The Trojans will continue road conference swing on Saturday with a Noon start at the University of Findlay (4-1-1, 3-0-1 Great Midwest), October 2.
