THE SERIES

The Eagles won the only previous meeting on September 13th, 2013, by a score of 3-2. The loss came at a neutral site, at King University in Bristol, TN.

MATCH DETAILS

To start the match, both teams traded points until the score was 7-7. Then both teams traded 3-0 runs before Carson-Newman took control of the set and dominating play. The Eagles owned a 21-15 lead. The Trojans would try to rally late after a timeout but came up short and lost the first set 25-17. The Eagles carried their momentum into the second set by taking the first six points. Following a timeout, the Trojans scored their first point of the set. But it would not faze Carson-Newman, as they kept up their dominant play. The Trojans resorted to taking their second timeout of the set after the score got up to 11-2. Trevecca attempted a comeback late in the set and would cut their deficit to 21-10. However, it was too little too late, as the Trojans lost the second set 25-11. Nothing that the Trojans worked in the first half of the third set as they fell into an 11-1 hole. Trevecca took a timeout and afterward came to life, they eventually only trailed 22-17. Unfortunately for the Trojans, it would, yet again, not be enough as they would lose the set 25-20, and the game three sets to none.
