Trevecca Women's Soccer | Trojans Get Second Great Midwest Win: 2-1 over Tiffin

NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (3-2-1, 2-0 Great Midwest) defeated Tiffin University (0-5) 2-1 on a rainy Saturday afternoon at the Trojan Soccer Complex.

THE SERIES

The Trojans have never lost to the Dragons, picking up their fourth win in as many matches this afternoon.

THE MATCH

The Trojans looked to keep to their winning ways against Tiffin and did so by establishing the possession game in the first half. Controlling the ball in their half, the Trojans comfortably outshot the Dragons 9-2 in the opening 45 minutes. In the 22nd minute, the Trojans finally broke through. It was Abbigail Legg who put home a pass from Annie Warner to give the Trojans the lead. Legg's tally was her second of the season. The Trojans weren't content, however. Sustained pressure on Tiffin goalkeeper Malea Nelson allowed Trevecca another opportunity. Danyel Joy's strike in the 33rd minute gave the Trojans a 2-0 halftime advantage. Joy's goal, the first on the season, was assisted by Isabel Felger. Tiffin scored just three minutes into the second half and shifted the pressure on the home team. After dominating possession for much of the final 45 minutes, the one goal was all the Dragons would manage as the Trojans held on to secure all three points.

Abbigail Legg scored her second goal of the season, and in doing so collected her third all-time strike against the Dragons having collected a brace in the Trojans 4-0 home win versus Tiffin during the 2021 spring season.
