Box Score JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. –The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (1-2-1) hit the road to play Carson-Newman University (1-1-1) and came away with a 1-1 two overtime tie.

THE SERIES
Entering today, the series was as even as you could imagine, 2-2-1. The series started in 2012, when Trevecca moved into NCAA Division II provisional membership. The teams met each year for four years but have not met since 2016. The teams are not 2-2-2 all-time.
THE MATCH
Neither team found the back of the nets in the first 45 minutes, but the Eagles scored first in the 51st minute (50:07) on a Nellie Bryneus goal on an assist from Emilee Futrell.
Trevecca found the equalizer just moments later with an Abbigail Legg goal in the 55th minute (54:57) with an assist from Annie Warner.
Both teams produced a clean sheet through regulation and two overtime periods to keep the series even at 2-2-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Carson-Newman outshot the Trojans 23-8 with a 12-6 edge in the shots on goal category. The Eagles racked up 17 fouls to just eight on Trevecca. The corners edge went the Eagles way 6-2 and they were called offsides three times, Trevecca was not called for offsides.
Delayna Holman produced 10 saves over her 110 minutes in goal.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca opens Great Midwest play at home on Thursday, September 16, when Kentucky Wesleyan College (2-1) visits for a 7 PM match On the Hill. Tiffin University (0-3) follows on Saturday at 1 PM.
