SERIES HISTORY

Cedarville moved to 6-4 against the Trojans in the last 10 meetings, but Trevecca owns the series lead at 25-7. Over the first 22 meetings, the Trojans won 21.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Cedarville produced seven hits, but the big one was a solo home run by Casey Bertke, the Great Midwest Freshman of the Year, in the top of the seventh padding what was a 1-0 Yellow Jacket lead. The blast proved to be the game-winner.

Trevecca sophomore Carly Sperlich hit her ninth home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh, but that was all for the Trojan offense in game one.

CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES

Raygn Hall (11-8) pitched well in taking the loss. Hall allowed seven hits, but only two runs – one earned. Hall sat down seven Yellow Jackets on strikes and did not issue any free passes. The complete game is the 41st of her career. Hall threw 77 pitches, 57 for strikes.

Sperlich, a first-team all-conference selection, collected two of the Trojans five hits. Matti Byrd had two hits, one was a double.

Bertke (9-11) pitched the complete game for Cedarville. The freshman allowed five hits and just one run. She did not walk any Trojans and struck out three. She faced just three beyond the minimum.

Ben Tyree, who was honored as the Co-Coach of the Year following the game in the awards ceremony, is 427-179-2 all-time, 41-21 in postseason play, and stands at 129-37 in Great Midwest regular season play.

In addition to Tyree's honor, MaKray Odom, Carly Sperlich, Lenna Robinson, Raygn Hall, and Malone Thrift are first-team all-conference selections and Alyssa Triner is on the third team.
