Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University softball (17-9, 9-3 Great Midwest) swept Cedarville University (17-15, 6-8 Great Midwest), Friday afternoon, 6-5 and 4-3, to remain in second place in the Great Midwest Conference standings.

SERIES HISTORY
Trevecca is 25-6 all-time versus the Yellow Jackets. Cedarville had won four of the last five meetings. The teams had not met since 2018.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
Trevecca scored three in the first inning as Malone Thrift doubled to right to drive in two and scored on a Megan Groves single to left-center.
Cedarville got on the board in the third and used a three-run home run in the top of the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. Abbie Page drove in the next two runs for Trevecca, with RBI singles in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game. A throwing error on the fifth-inning single allowed Groves to score the winning run.
GAME 2
Trevecca trailed 3-0 to start the game after a Cedarville sac fly in the first and a two-run home run in the top of the second. Alyssa Triner and Odom each singled in runs in the bottom of the second to pull the Trojans within a run, 3-2. A Page double in the fourth tied the game as Megan Walker crossed the plate. Carly Sperlich lined into a sac fly in the bottom of the sixth to allow Robinson to score the eventual winning run.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES
GAME 1
Lenna Robinson led TNU with a 3-4 performance at the plate. Groves and Page were each 2-for-3. Page drove in two runs, while Groves scored twice and had one RBI. MaKray Odom was 2-for-4 at the plate. Thrift and Mattie Byrd each had one hit. Reign Hall (8-7) pitched the complete game in the circle, allowing five earned runs off 13 hits and one walk. She struck out six.
GAME 2
Robinson hit 2-for-4 in the second game to lead the Trojans with five hits in the doubleheader. Triner and Page were each 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sperlich, Brooke Eakes, Groves, and Odom each had one hit. Sperlich and Odom each drove in a run. Alex Behnke (8-1) allowed only five hits and three runs in her complete-game win. She did not allow a walk and struck out two.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Trojans host Ohio Dominican University (19-12, 9-5 Great Midwest / April 24) for a brunch (11 AM) doubleheader Monday, April 26, before closing the regular season on the road at Lake Erie College (9-24, 4-8 Great Midwest / April 30) and Ursuline College (5-17, 5-5 Great Midwest / May 1).
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships are set for May 6-8.
