Box Score Nashville, TN - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (5-6, 5-6 Great Midwest) took an early lead, and never let it go to close out the regular season with a 3-1 win over Kentucky Wesleyan.
Trevecca can now turn its attention to the Great Midwest tournament beginning on Tuesday, already having been locked in as the No. 7 seed.

THE SERIES
It was the 29th meeting between the two programs, and Trevecca still trails 10-19. The win snapped a five-game losing skid against the Panthers, giving the Trojans their first win since 2016.
THE MATCH
The first set was back-and-forth the whole way, but Trevecca outlasted Kentucky Wesleyan 25-22. The Trojans controlled the entirety of the second set 25-16, and looked primed to cruise to a 3-0 sweep.
The Panthers had a resurgence however, and forced third set into extra points, finally taking it 26-24 to extend the match. Trevecca eventually pulled away with a strong defensive performace in the fourth and final set, setting up its playmakers in the most crucial moments to win 25-18 and take the 3-1 match victory.
TOP PLAYERS
Ellie Buffler continued her red-hot run of form, as the Great Midwest leader in kills per set picked up 14 kills at a .130 percentage, to go with two service aces, five digs, and a pair of blocks. However, it was Austyn Baldwin who led the way on offense, with a season-high 15 kills on a .682 percentage to go with four blocks.
Emma Green chipped in eight kills with a .400 percentage and also notched a career-high six blocks. Lydia Yonce added four blocks, while Sami Railey provided five kills and a block. Claire Hindman led the team in digs with 22, and Chloee McDaniel picked up 11 digs and 27 assists.
Alexis Davis led Kentucky Wesleyan with 10 kills, while Ava Rebarchik and Kara Cron had nine each. Nilah Roy had 17 digs.
THE TEAM
Trevecca out-killed Kentucky Wesleyan 48-43, with a .240 percentage compared to the Panthers' .092 rate. The Trojans had 12 blocks to Kentucky Wesleyan's seven, and won the matchup in digs 54-50. A big difference came in attack errors, where Kentucky Wesleyan had 30 and Trevecca had 18.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca's regular season is over, and the Trojans can now turn their attention to the postseason. The Great Midwest tournament begins on Tuesday, and the Trojans will be on the road as the No. 7 seed, playing the No. 2 seed.
There is no confirmation as to who Trevecca will be playing in the Great Midwest quarterfinals, updates will be posted to tnutrojans.com as soon as matchups are made official.
