SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

It was only the third all-time meeting between Trevecca and Belmont as NCAA schools, and the Bruins now hold the 2-1 advantage in the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Belmont got on the board first, when John Behrends' RBI single up the middle of the field drove in Carson Shacklett for a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Trevecca's response came in the top of the second, when John O'Dwyer blasted a bomb to right field that carried over the wall for a solo home run, which tied the game at 1-1.

Kevin Okins grounded out to shortstop in the bottom of the second for Belmont, but it was enough to score freshman Guy Lipscomb to give the Bruins the 2-1 edge. Belmont piled on two more runs in the bottom of the third, with a two-run homer to right field by John Behrends, and an RBI double by Drew Lowry.

Behrends picked up his fourth RBI of the afternoon on a groundout to the mound that scored Schacklett.

STATS REPORT

Trevecca played six pitchers on the day, and Tyler Koprowski had the longest stay on the mound with two innings pitched, giving up one hit and striking out one batter. Andru Becker struck out two Bruins and surrendered three hits.

Bryant Goolsby went 1-3 for Trevecca with an RBI on his solo home run. O'Dwyer, Zeke Lecomte, and Jordan Jackson also went 1-3.
