SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

It is the fifth all-time meeting between Trevecca and Lincoln Memorial, and the Railsplitters now hold the 3-2 lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trevecca opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning, with a SAC fly by Ryan Mortensen that drove in Dalton Mauldin with an unearned run. The Trojans doubled the lead two innings later, when Jordan Jackson took advantage of an RBI groundout from Zeke Lecomte.

Lincoln Memorial's rally began in the fifth inning, when Zuriel Collins sent a solo shot over the left field wall to put the Railsplitters on the board. An error allowed DJ Alexander Jr. to score the tying run, and an RBI single by Brandon Parrott gave LMU the 3-2 lead, scoring Tyler Adams.

Trevecca tied it back up at 3-3 when Ethan Harrison reached on a fielders choice, allowing Mortensen to score. The Railsplitters piled on in the eighth, however, with a four-run inning, including a three-run double by Walker Hennon.

Now down 7-3, Trevecca grabbed another run as Lecomte reached on a fielder's choice to score Mortensen again. The Trojans went into the bottom of the ninth inning trailing 7-4, and got two runners on base, but ultimately could not outlast the Railsplitters.

STATS REPORT

Trevecca played nine pitchers in the game. Lee Cunningham, Andru Becker, and Tiger Cox each struck out three batters. Becker started the game, and Carson McClure took the loss.

Trey Vanderpool went 3-4 at the plate for the Trojans, while Zeke Lecomte went 1-4 with a pair of RBIs. Ryan Mortensen was 2-2 with an RBI and two runs.

WHAT'S NEXT

Trevecca will move on to Thursday, for a scheduled Great Midwest home-opening series against Ohio Dominican. Game 1 is set for Thursday afternoon, but there is potential for a rescheduling due to inclement weather.
