SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
It was the seventh meeting between Trevecca and Wash, and the Trojans fell to 2-5 all-time. Walsh picked up its fourth straight win in the series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trevecca could never find a rhythm offensively, but stayed in the game in the first half due to its defense. The Cavaliers led 16-15 after the first ten minutes, with both teams shooting poorly. The trend continued in the second quarter, with the Trojans forcing turnovers and freshman Keeley Carter building off her career performance on Thursday to lead the Trojans in the first half. Trevecca trailed 28-26 at halftime.
Walsh controlled the game coming out of the locker room, outscoring the Trojans 29-14 in the third quarter. Defending Great Midwest Player of the Year Sha Carter took over the game, drawing fouls under the hoop as Walsh hit 11 of its 22 free throws in the win. Trevecca trailed by as much as 21 with over eight minutes to play, but ripped off a 12-2 run as Carter, Olivia Pepperman, and Faith Wilken started to find their scoring form. The Trojans couldn't cut the lead back down to single digits, however, and Walsh hit a pair of big three-pointers late to ice the game away for a 77-59 win.
