Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (0-1, 0-0 Great Midwest) lost their season opener, 3-0, to visiting University of Montevallo on Saturday at the Trevecca Soccer Complex.
In what was originally scheduled as an exhibition, the match was changed to the season opener for both teams. So, the match turned into the first action for the Trojans in 14 months. Coach Kelsey Cameron used the opportunity to get a closer look at her team and played 22 members on a beautiful February day on the Hill. The temp at kickoff was 48 degrees.

THE MATCH
The game-winner came at 29:19 on a goal from Kira Bochard of Montevallo with an assist from Kayla Travis. The Falcons added two more goals, the second at 35:41 from Abbie Vingers and the final at 87:34 from Romee Contreras. Bochard assisted on the Contreras goal and Contreras assisted on the Vingers goal.
Montevallo produced 21 shots, 10 on goal. Trevecca had five goals and just two on goal. Annie Mason got the win on goal for the Falcons with two saves. Delayna Holman worked the goal for Trevecca producing seven saves.
WHAT THE RESULT MEANS
match in over a year, the Trojans now have two weeks to get ready for their second match of the season.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca visits Sewanee, the University of the South, on February 27 at 1 PM.
They return home March 5 at 5:00 PM when Lee University comes to the Hill for another edition of the series with the former TranSouth Conference foe.
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference season begins on March 13 at 7:30 PM when Trevecca travels to Owensboro, Ky. to take on the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan College.
The first home Great Midwest match follows on March 18 at 4:30 PM with the Dragons of Tiffin University.
