Box Score 2 OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (2-6) played a pair of games at the Blue Bridge Classic hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday, falling to the University of Indianapolis (1-1) Greyhounds 6-0, before bouncing back to take down the Bulldogs of Ferris State University (6-3) in their weekend finale 4-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1: Indianapolis
- Both teams went down in order in the first two innings, but with two out in the top of the third, Gianni Lannatone singled home a pair to give the Greyhounds a 2-0 lead.
- The Greyhounds - preseason favorites to win the Great Lakes Valley Conference and ranked 17th in the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association poll - scored their next three runs on a pair of Trevecca throwing errors, and in the seventh, Indianapolis got an RBI knock from Haylie Foster to cap the scoring and give the Greyhounds the 6-0 win.
GAME 2: Ferris State
- Trevecca opened the scoring on singles from Malone Thrift and Matti Byrd in the top of the second, but the lead was short-lived.
- In the bottom of the inning, Ferris State's Abby Mitchell lifted a two-run homer to left-center that gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead, which they carried into the fifth frame.
- In the fifth, Trevecca rallied, plating three runs on only two hits including a game-tying single from Brooke Eakes.
- Leena Robinson scored the go-ahead run on a Ferris State error, and Eakes scored an insurance run on a squeeze play put down by Sydney McCormick to cap the inning.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES
GAME 1: Indianapolis
- Hannah Caffey (0-1) threw three and one-third innings in the loss, and she yielded four runs - though only two were earned - on six hits with one strikeout. Hallie Waters (1-0) earned the win for Indianapolis by throwing five innings of shutout ball and allowing only two hits and two walks.
- Kelsey Seitz had one of the two hits in the game for TNU, a single in the fifth; and she also drew two walks. The other Trevecca hit was a single from Matti Byrd - also in the fifth inning - and Emilee Bundy stole a base in the game.
GAME 2: Ferris State
- Raygn Hall (1-4) picked up her first win of the season with a complete game. She scattered seven hits, and she allowed one walk while punching out seven Bulldogs. The loss went to Mckenzie Cleland (5-1) who yielded four runs on seven hits in seven innings of work with four strikeouts.
- MaKray Odom had a pair of hits for the Trojans in the game, Eakes drew two walks, and Robinson and Thrift each had stolen bases.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca returns home March 3 in a doubleheader against Union University, before beginning Great Midwest play on March 26 against Malone University.
