Box Score TAMPA, Fla. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball team (3-8, 0-4 Great Midwest), continuing play without eight players, lost 76-48 to the University of Tampa (5-3, 1-2 SSC), in the second and final game of the (University of) Tampa Classic.

Tampa wins the first-ever meeting between the two teams in men's basketball.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans, with a short roster, started the game with two dunks from Caleb Terry, but Tampa went on a 15-4 run to start the game with 14:20 left in the first half. Another dunk from Caleb Terry and a three from Braden Zapp would bring the Trojans within six (15-9) with 13:10 to go in the half. However, Tampa would go on an 11-2 scoring run past the 10-minute mark in the first half, earning a 26-11 lead. The scoring would go back and forth through the majority of the remaining time, but Tampa went on a 7-0 run in the last 3:45 of the half. The Trojans trailed 40-20 at halftime.
The Trojans came out of the break hot with an 8-2 scoring run in the first five minutes of the second half. Despite the Trojans' efforts to close the lead quickly, Tampa went on a 10-3 run to extend the lead to 52-31 with 12:10 left in the game. The Trojans responded with another run of their own, outscoring Tampa 13-5 with 6:52 left in the game. The Trojan run was highlighted by two layups from Caleb Terry, and five points by Braden Zapp. Tampa then ran away with the lead with an 18-4 run to defeat the Trojans 76-48.
PLAYER STATS BREAKDOWN
Caleb Terry led the Trojans with a career-high 17 points on 7-10 from the field and 1-1 from three-point range. Terry also brought down seven rebounds. Braden Zapp scored 15, shooting 50% (3-6) from three.
TEAM STATS BREAKDOWN
The Trojans shot 36.4% (16-44) from the floor, 30% (6-20) from three-point range, and 58.8% (10-17) from the free-throw line.
