THE SERIES

The Trojans now have a 7-8-3 record versus Cedarville.

THE MATCH

Facing a tough conference opponent in Cedarville, the Trojans knew the game would be a difficult one as the all-time series indicates, the programs played even through 17 previous meetings. Their assumptions were correct when Audrey Nelson scored for Cedarville on just the second shot of the game. Cedarville took a commanding lead in shots and shots on goal in the first half. Outshooting the Trojans 9-3 and leading in shots on goal 4-1. Trevecca was unable to get the offense going in the first half. They would also get dominated in corner kicks with Cedarville having a 3-0 edge in that category. The Yellow Jackets kept applying pressure on Trojan goalkeeper Delayna Holman, who would stand tall and make three saves to end the first half.

The Trojans rebounded early in the second half and tied the game just three minutes in on a goal by Makena Schlosser. The goal was assisted by Danyel Joy. The Trojans were a lot more effective on offense totaling eight shots in the second half with three being on goal.

However, Cedarville would keep ahead of Trevecca in the shots and shots on goal totals, leading the Trojans in both categories 18-9 and 8-4 respectively. This domination of the shot counter eventually led to the Yellow Jackets reclaiming the lead with just under four minutes remaining in the game on a goal by Addie Erslan. The Trojans were unable to respond before time expired.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • The Trojans had more saves than Cedarville, 6-3

  • Trevecca was the only team to go offsides and it only happened once
