THE SERIES

After not meeting in the COVID shortened 2021 spring season, the Storm and Trojans faced off for the first time in over two years. Last time out it was the Storm earning a 1-0 victory in Nashville. With tonight's result, TNU leads all-time 3-1.

THE MATCH

The Trojans' last visit to Ohio earlier this season did not end well. After dropping points in both matches against Tiffin and Findlay, the Trojans found a way to flip the script tonight. The first 45 minutes were hard-fought with both sides trading possession. In the second half, the Trojans broke through. Seeking their first road result of the campaign, the Trojans received a 63rd minute game-winner from the foot of Makena Schlosser. Schlosser's strike came off a service from Maddie Ferrel. The win pushes the Trojans back into third place in the Great Midwest and are in prime position to collect three more points against winless Malone on Saturday.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • The Trojans picked up their first road victory of the season and remain unbeaten (6-0) at the Trojan Soccer Complex.
  • Makena Schlosser leads the Great Midwest in game-winning goals this season.
  • Katelyn Keogh is just two goals away from tying Makena Schlosser's single-season goal record (8) by a freshman.
  • Keogh remains the top freshman goal scorer in the G-MAC this season and has done so in two to three fewer games than her nearest competition.
  • Eight different Trojans have scored at least one goal this campaign.

UP NEXT

The Trojans close the week off with a meeting against Malone University (0-7-2, 0-5-1 Great Midwest) on Saturday; kick-off is set for 11 a.m.
