Box Score Nashville, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (0-4, 0-4 Great Midwest) took the first set, but surrendered the next three to the Ohio Dominican Panthers (1-0, 1-0 Great Midwest) to fall 3-1 at Trojan Fieldhouse on Saturday
The Trojans were operating after a quick turnaround, following a 3-0 loss to Tiffin on Friday, and were still working with an extremely shorthanded roster with several key players out due to return to play protocols.

THE SERIES
Trevecca still leads the all-time series after the seventh meeting between the two programs, but Ohio Dominican cut the overall record to a 4-3 Trojan advantage.
THE MATCH
Trevecca got off to an excellent start in the first set, controlling it from the get-go and winning 25-13 to take a 1-0 advantage. The Trojans were dominating the front line defensively, as Sami Raley picked up two blocks in the first set alone.
The script flipped in the second set, as Ohio Dominican controlled things after the Trojans took a 1-0 lead. The Panthers won the second set 25-15, producing 14 kills to Trevecca's six to tie it up at 1-1. In the third set, both teams were neck-and-neck down the stretch, but Ohio Dominican was able to produce more offensively. The Panthers had 15 kills in the third set to Trevecca's 5, and the Trojans collected five service errors, falling 25-20 to trail 2-1 overall.
The fourth and final set was a back-and-forth affair, as Trevecca regained some of its momentum on offense, knocking down 13 kills and blocking three Ohio Dominican attacks. The Panthers led by as much as six in the fourth set with a 19-13 advantage, but Trevecca created a 9-3 run that tied it up at 22-22, including two kills by Madison Martin. Ohio Dominican scored the next three points however, and Emily Fecht found the back corner with an accurate kill to cement the 25-22 win for the Panthers, taking the game 3-1.
TOP PLAYERS
Junior Madison Martin led the Trojans in kills and points with 12 and 13, respectively, and added seven digs. Emma Green had the best hit percentage for the Trojans at .368 with 10 kills, and 12.5 points to go with five blocks. Freshman Akasia Patterson had a career day, with seven kills, five blocks, and 9.5 points. Sami Raley added three kills and four blocks for the Trojans.
Ohio Dominican's duo of Abbi Gillson and Amanda Remmetter gave the Panthers 12 kills from each and 27 combined points. Zoe Carmichael had a hit percentage of .750 with three blocks for the Panthers.
THE TEAM
ODU had 49 kills to Trevecca's 36, and a .163 percentage to Trevecca's .125. The Trojans blocked nine attacks compared to Ohio Dominican's five, and had less errors on the day. Trevecca picked up 21 attack errors and seven service errors, while the Panthers had 16 attack errors and 12 serve errors.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca will have a week to regroup, before hitting the road in search of the season's first win at Ohio Valley on Saturday, February 6. Trevecca is back in Trojan Fieldhouse on Friday, February 12 to host Cedarville in Great Midwest play.
