Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (3-8) lost
a pair of games 3-2 to Saginaw Valley State University (5-1) and 5-1 to Lewis University (2-2) at Jackson Field during the first day of the Trojan Classic on Friday.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
Saginaw Valley and Trevecca met for the first-time last season. The squads split a pair of games at Jackson Field, the win for the Trojans was Ryan Schmalz' 200th career win. The Cardinals lead the series, 4-2.
With the win, Lewis leads the all-time series 5-2 over the Trojans. Trevecca claimed the first all-time meeting in 2014, and the teams split last year's two meetings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One:
The first run of the game came in the Trojan fourth after Dalton Mauldin led off the inning with a single to left, moved to second on a balk, and moved to third and then scored on a pair of Cardinal errors, the Trojans led 1-0 … the lead held until the Cardinals scored three in their half of the sixth … the Trojans plated one more run in the seventh, Chandler Miller led off with a double and scored on a Trey Vanderpool sac fly to center, but that is all the Trojans could manage and spoiled a five-inning gem by starter Chase Haley and a stellar relief appearance by Zeke Lecomte
Game Two:
Trevecca struck first again with a run in the bottom of the first when Dalton Mauldin reached on a two-out single and moved to second when John Anderson singled, John O'Dwyer drove Mauldin in with a single for a 1-0 Trojan lead … a solo homer from Lewis tied the game 1-1 after the top of the second … Lewis took the lead 2-1 with a run in the top of the third and added three more for a 5-1 victory
PLAYER STATS REPORT
Game One:
Chase Haley started and pitched five scoreless innings on the mound with nine strikeouts while giving up just two hits, a walk, and two hit-by-pitch … Zeke Lecomte closed out the game for the Trojans with 3.1 scoreless innings pitched and gave up one hit and a walk while striking out one … John O'Dwyer went 1-4 with a stolen base and Trey Vanderpool delivered two hits in three at bats and drove in a run with a sac fly
