Box Score 2 YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball Trojans (9-1) split a pair of games in North Georgia on Saturday. First, the Trojans lost 8-3 to No. 1 Young Harris University (11-0), then jumped back in the win column for the ninth time with a 9-3 win over Columbus State University (5-6).

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1 Young Harris:
Trevecca opened the game with a run in the top of the first when MaKray Odom delivered a lead-off triple and scored on a single to center by Lenna Robinson. Young Harris responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning to tie it at 1-1. The nationally-ranked defenses flexed for the next two innings as neither team would score until the fourth. Matti Byrd hit her first home run of the season to give the Trojans a 2-1 lead. The Mountain Lions countered with two home runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-1 lead. The scoring finished in the sixth as the Trojans plated one and the Mountain Lions tacked on two more to win 8-3.
GAME 2 Columbus State:
The Trojans switched dugouts and were the home team for game two. Columbus State plated two in the top of the first to leave the Trojans with work to do. Facing a 3-0 deficit in the bottom of the third, the Trojans countered with two runs off RBI doubles from Megan Groves and Carly Sperlich. Trevecca captured the lead for good with a six-run fifth inning. The Trojans scored six runs off two hits and an error. Four walks and two singles were recorded in the frame as MaKray Odom, Lenna Robinson, Sperlich, Brooke Eakes, and Sydney McCormick all touched home.
PLAYER/TEAM STATS REPORT
GAME 1 Young Harris:
Lenna Robinson went 3-4 with an RBI. Matti Byrd was 1-2 with a home run and walk. Hanna Caffey (2-1) started in the circle and pitched 3.2 innings recording three strikeouts.
GAME 2 Columbus State:
MaKray Odom went 3-4 and scored two runs, while Lenna Robinson connected for three more hits (3-4) with a pair of runs scored. Sidney Brake was 1-3 with a walk, run scored and two RBIs. Raygn Hall (3-0) started and tossed 5.2 innings while striking out two.
