Trevecca Women's Soccer | Trojans Strengthen Top of the Standings Status with 1-0 Shut out

NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer (2-3-2, 2-0-0 Great Midwest) now own two conference wins after shutting out rival Cedarville University (2-4-0, 1-1 Great Midwest) 1-0 on Thursday evening at the Trevecca Soccer Complex.

THE SERIES

With the win, Trevecca extends its advantage in the all-time series Yellow Jackets. The Trojans lead the series 7-4-3 overall and are 5-1-2 at home versus Cedarville.

 

THE MATCH

Annie Warner (FR/Nolensville, TN) scored her second goal of the season in the first minute of the match, scoring unassisted just 32 seconds into the match. Delayna Holman (SO/Shepherdsville, KY) made it stand up with five saves over 90 minutes in goal.  

 

WOMAN OF THE MATCH

Delayna Holmen produced another shutout in goal setting up the Trojans to push to the top of the early G-MAC standings.  

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

The result setups a big early match in the Great Midwest. While TNU and Walsh are tied 2-0 in the standings, Ohio Dominican is one of two teams tied for third. Cedarville, like ODU, is 1-1 this season.

The Trojans host Ohio Dominican University (3-3-0, 1-1-0 Great Midwest) on Saturday at 2:30 PM. Trevecca is 2-1-0 versus the Panthers all-time, winning the last two meetings.
