MASON, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University Baseball Trojans (28-21, 20-10 G-MAC) fell to Tiffin University (23-29, 17-15 G-MAC) 15-4 in the second round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships played at Legacy Field on Wednesday.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES:

Tonight's game was the first ever played in the all-time series between the two squads. Tiffin joined the Great Midwest Athletic Conference this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Tiffin jumped on the Trojans with a three-run, three-hit first inning … the Trojans responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning off a Javier Lopez (SR/Lawrenceville, GA ) single and Bryant Goolsby (FR/Carthage, TN) reaching by a fielder's choice … Tiffin scored one in both the second and third and led 6-3 after three innings … the Trojans scored their final run in the sixth when Chandler Miller (JR/Marietta, GA) doubled to left to bring in Sam Mang (SR/Woodstock, GA) … Tiffin used nine-run top of the sixth to secure a 15-4 victory.

Javier Lopez led the way going 3-4 with one RBI … Sam Mang was 1-2 with a run scored and an RBI … Trey Vanderpool (JR/Dacula, GA) was held hitless but drew two of the Trojans three walks … Chase Douglas (JR/Murfreesboro, TN) started and tossed three innings … Douglas falls to 5-4 on the season allowing four runs and six hits … Gideon McKee (JR/Brentwood, TN)n came on in relief throwing two and three third innings … Tiger Cox (JR/Nolensville, TN), Lee Cunningham (SO/Kennesaw, GA), and Carson McClure (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) combined for the final two and a third innings.  

Trevecca had six hits and three walks which scored four runs … the Trojans committed three errors to the Dragons one … Tiffin received 15 hits and drew four which scored 15 runs.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Trojans face off against the #4 seeded Lake Erie Storm (28-21, 19-11 G-MAC) at 9 AM at Legacy Field. The Storm got the better of the Trojans in Nashville this season taking three of the four contests. LEC hold a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series.
