PEPPER PIKE, OH – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (23-12, 10-4 G-MAC) swept a pair of Great Midwest Athletic Conference games over Ursuline College (8-22, 3-7 G-MAC), 4-1 and 4-3, on Sunday afternoon.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

The Trojans and Arrows have met 21 times with Trevecca leading 19-2 all-time. Trevecca has taken five of the last six games after winning the first 14 games played.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME 1: Ursuline scored its only run in the bottom of the third to break the 0-0 tie … Lenna Robinson (FR/Kingston, TN) brought in MaKray Odom (JR/Dickson, TN) (triple) to tie the game at 1-1 in the sixth inning … the game went into extra innings where the Trojans plated three runs in the 8th … Bailey Alexander (SR/Glasgow, KY) hit a two-run double to bring in Lenna Robinson (single) and Megan Groves (SO/White House, TN) (fielder's choice/bunt) … though the first two Arrows walked to begin the 8th the Trojans recorded three quick outs to win 4-1.

GAME 2: Trevecca scored when Caitlyn Hudgins (SR/Springfield, TN) (single) brought in MaKray Odom (double) in the top of the first inning … Ursuline tied it at 1-1 in the third and took a 3-1 lead in the fourth … the Trojans plated three runs in the fifth when Hudgins (sac fly) scored Odom (single) and Megan Groves (single) brought in both Mary Collins (SR/Apison, TN) (HBP) and Lenna Robinson (fielder's choice) … Ursuline managed just two hits after falling behind 4-3.

PLAYER/TEAM STATS REPORT

GAME 1: Bailey Alexander went 2-4 with two RBIs … Caitlyn Hudgins (2-4) and Lenna Robinson (2-4) also recorded multi-hit games … Savannah Carr (SR/Springfield, TN) (11-4) started and threw seven innings of one-run softball … Carr struck out four Arrows.

The Trojans committed the games only error … both teams had nine hits … two Trojans were retired on strikes to four Arrows players.

GAME 2: Megan Groves went 3-3 with two RBIs … MaKray Odom (3-4) also had three hits and scored two runs … Lenna Robinson (1-3) and Caitlyn Hudgins (1-3) were the only other Trojans to record a hit … Raygn Hall (JR/Kingston, TN) tossed all seven innings and improved to 9-3 on the season … Hall struck out two, allowed three runs and issued five walks.

Trevecca had eight hits to Ursuline's nine … TNU had two errors, while UC had none.

WHAT'S NEXT

Trevecca returns to Tennessee for another road game on Wednesday. The Trojans

travel to Cleveland, Tennessee for a pair of games against Lee University (18-24, 7-13 GSC) at 2 PM. Trevecca trails Lee 5-7 in the all-time series. The teams split a pair of games played at the Trojan Softball Complex last season.
