HILLSDALE, MI – The Trevecca Nazarene University Baseball Trojans (23-20, 16-10 G-MAC) lost a pair of games to Hillsdale (21-23, 15-13 G-MAC) 7-2 and 10-6, on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME ONE

Hillsdale plated five runs in the first and maintained its lead the rest of the way … the Trojans were held scoreless for the first three innings until Sam Mang (SR/Woodstock, GA) took first on a fielder's choice allowing Javier Lopez (SR/Lawrenceville, GA ) to score … Trevecca trailed 6-1 after four innings … both teams scored in the sixth as Dalton Mauldin (JR/Lake City, FL) scored off a wild pitch … Hillsdale won the seven-inning game, 7-2.

GAME TWO

Hillsdale homered in the first and third to take a 4-0 lead after four innings … the Chargers six-run fifth inning was the difference as Hillsdale led 10-0 going into the sixth … the Trojans bats came to life in the seventh, scoring their first run when Joseph McNamee (JR/Mt. Juliet, TN) scored off a double play … in the eighth McNamee singled in Bryant Goolsby (FR/Carthage, TN) … in the ninth the Trojans plated four runs behind Sam Mang's RBI single, Braden Odom (SO/Chesterfield, IN)'s two-RBI single and John O'Dwyer (JR/Nashville, TN) scoring off a fielder's choice … HC won 10-6.

GAME ONE

The Trojans managed just three hits, two coming from Javier Lopez (2-2, run scored) … Dalton Mauldin (1-3) received the other hit and scored the only other run … Trey Vanderpool (JR/Dacula, GA), Bryant Goolsby, and Sam Mang all collected a walk … Chase Douglas (JR/Murfreesboro, TN) started and threw five innings … Douglas struck out seven, but allowed seven runs to score, three of which were earned … Carson McClure (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) pitched an inning of relief and recorded three outs with just one walk.

GAME TWO

Braden Odom (2-4) and Joseph McNamee (2-5) both recorded multi-hit games and drove in two runs apiece … Sam Mang was 1-3 with two walks and a run scored … Cole Alsup (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) made his third career start by throwing four and a third inning … Alsup (1-1) allowed seven runs, six earned and struck out two … Jay Bernard, Gideon McKee (JR/Brentwood, TN)n, and Lee Cunningham (SO/Kennesaw, GA) all saw action in relief.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Trojans return to Nashville for their final four-game series of the regular season. Trevecca hosts Ohio Valley (9-31, 8-16 G-MAC) on Thursday and Friday. The Trojans own an 18-3 advantage in the all-time series and are currently on a four-game winning streak over the Fighting Scots and have also won seven of the last eight.
