CEDARVILLE, OH – The Trevecca Nazarene University Baseball Trojans (22-17, 15-7 G-MAC) took the opening two of a four-game set against Great Midwest Athletic Conference rivals, Cedarville (12-26, 6-14), 3-0 and 14-5, on Thursday.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES:

With the two wins, Trevecca improves to 31-4 all-time against Cedarville dating back to 2013. The Trojans have won 19 straight against the Yellow Jackets.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME ONE

The game remained scoreless until Trevecca broke through in the top of the sixth with a Dalton Mauldin (JR/Lake City, FL) single up the middle to score Braden Odom (SO/Chesterfield, IN) … Chandler Miller (JR/Marietta, GA) hit a solo home run his first of the year to give TNU a 2-0 lead in the seventh … the Trojans scored the game's third and final run in the top of the ninth when Trey Vanderpool (JR/Dacula, GA)'s fielder's choice base allowed Daniel Lankster (SR/Hendersonville, TN) to score off a throwing error.

GAME TWO

Trevecca scored a run in each of the first five innings … CU walked a run in the top of the first before scoring twice in the bottom half of the first … after a balk and an RBI triple from Bryant Goolsby (FR/Carthage, TN) took a 3-2 in the second … John O'Dwyer (JR/Nashville, TN) scored on a sac-fly in the third … the Trojans put together consecutive five-run innings in the fourth and fifth … a double (O'Dwyer), throwing error (Joseph McNamee (JR/Mt. Juliet, TN) safe at first) and a triple (Braden Odom) plated five runs in the fourth … a walk (Sam Mang (SR/Woodstock, GA)), another error (John O'Dwyer safe at first), and a pair of singles (Joseph McNamee, Trey Vanderpool) plated the Trojans final five runs.

GAME ONE

Dalton Mauldin enjoyed a 3-4 day with an RBI and a walk … Braden Odom also had a multi-hit game with a walk and a run scored … Jake Roberson (SR/Springfield, TN) pitched a complete game shutout with only five hits allowed … the left-hander improved to 6-4 on the season and now has 53 strikeouts on the season after fanning seven Yellow Jackets today.

GAME TWO

Just two Trojans, Trey Vanderpool (2-5) and John O'Dwyer (2-3) recorded multi-hit games, but the duo combined for five RBIs … Dalton Mauldin drew three walks and scored three runs … Bryant Goolsby drew two walks, scored a run and had an RBI … Joseph McNamee (2-4) and Braden Odom (1-3) also drove in two runs … Tyler Koprowski (SO/Canton, GA) started and went three and two-thirds innings … Koprowski struck out four, but allowed all five Yellow Jacket runs … Tiger Cox (JR/Nolensville, TN) (3-0) picked up the win with two and a thirds innings of relief and three strikeouts … Hunter Davis (FR/Gordonsville, TN) pitched the seventh and allowed a hit, walk and struck out the final batter of the day.
