NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University Baseball Trojans (16-16, 9-7 G-MAC) dropped an extra-inning non-conference tilt with Lee University Flames (18-21, 8-11 GSC), 14-15, at Jackson Field on Tuesday.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES:

Since 2001, Lee leads the series 26-11, the Flames have won the last nine meetings.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trevecca scored a run in the first inning with three two-out hits … in the second inning, Trevecca pulled ahead 5-1 with four runs … Lee cut the Trojan lead to one (5-4) with a four-run top of the fourth … Trevecca responded with an 8-run bottom of the fourth; the inning included five hits and a grand slam by Sam Mang, 15 Trojans went to the plate in the inning, putting the Trojans up 13-4 … the Flames were not finished either, scoring three in the fifth and five in the sixth, cutting the Trojans lead to one (13-12) … Trevecca pushed the lead to two again with a solo home run from John O'Dwyer in the seventh … Lee scored two in the eight tying the game at 14-14 … the game went to extra innings where the Flames scored a run on a sac fly with the bases loaded to pull ahead 15-14 in the top of the 10th

Javier Lopez went 4-6 with three runs scored, five RBI, and a triple … Sam Mang hit 2-6 with a run scored, a grand slam, and four RBI … John O'Dwyer went 2-5 with two runs scored, two RBI, a walk, and a home run … Cole Alsup started on the mound and pitched three innings without a hit or error; the freshmen has pitched 6.1 innings of no-hit baseball … Lee Cunningham took the loss pitching the 10^th

Lee had ten this and benefitted from 13 walks, three errors, and a hit batter to score their 15 runs … Trevecca used eight pitchers … Trevecca pounded out 14 hits and had four extra-base hits.    

WHAT'S NEXT

Davis & Elkins College Senators (4-25, 4-10 G-MAC) a pair of doubleheaders beginning with Friday's 2 PM (9 Inning/7 Inning) and Saturday beginning at 1 PM (7 Inning/9 Inning). The Trojans own an 18-1 edge in the all-time series. This is the final meeting for the Trojans and Senators at Jackson Field before D&E leaves the Great Midwest following this season.
