NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University Baseball Trojans (10-10, 4-2) dropped a pair of close games to Lake Erie College (9-7, 4-2 G-MAC), 2-1 and 5-1, at Jackson Field on Saturday.

The games were originally scheduled to be played in Painesville, Ohio at Lake Erie, but weather moved the games to Nashville. Lake Erie will bat last in all four games in the series per conference rules.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: The game remained scoreless until the Trojans pulled ahead 1-0 with a run in the top of the seventh inning, Joseph McNamee singled to lead off the inning and scored when Trey Vanderpool doubled … the Storm evened the game with a run in the bottom of the eighth, then scored a win in walk-off style with a bases loaded single in the bottom of the ninth, winning 2-1.

GAME TWO:  Lake Erie plated a run in the second and third for a 2-0 lead … Trevecca scored its lone run on a John O'Dwyer solo homer in the fourth, but the Storm scored two in the fourth and one in the fifth for the 5-1 victory

GAME ONE:  Drew Pierce was outstanding in 7.1 innings of mound work for the Trojans, but did not factor into the decision … Pierce allowed one hit and one run with two walks and nine strikeouts, Pierce didn't allow a hit until Nate Erzen singled to lead off the sixth inning … Lee Cunningham (1-1) took the loss in relief, going the final 1.1 innings … Trey Vanderpool and Bryan Goolsby each collected two hits … Vanderpool, Chandler Miller, Sam Mang, and Javier Lopez all doubled for Trevecca

Another double header beginning at Noon on Sunday for the Trojans and Storm. Trevecca hosts Kentucky Wesleyan College (9-11, 4-2 G-MAC) March 29 (2 PM) and March 30 (1 PM) for a Great Midwest double header each day. Trevecca leads the all-time series 11-8, but the Panthers have won five of the last eight meetings.   ÂÂ
