Trevecca Women's Soccer | Beat Kentucky Wesleyan, Visit ODU Saturday in G-MAC Championships

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (7-9-2, 7-6 Great Midwest) defeated Kentucky Wesleyan University (8-9, 5-8 Great Midwest), 2-0, at Panther Field on Tuesday.

 

Trevecca secures the fifth-seed in the 2019 Great Midwest Championships. Trevecca travels to Columbus, Ohio to face fourth-seeded Ohio Dominican University (10-6-1, 8-4 Great Midwest).

THE SERIES

Trevecca wins for the eighth time in the series and is now 10-3-1 versus KWC. Trevecca won both meetings this year by a combined 5-1 total.

 

THE MATCH

Trevecca scored two unassisted goals with the game winner coming from Madison Carby at 55:36. Makena Schlosser put the cherry on top with a goal at 60:38. Delayna Holman made the effort stand up with five saves in goal.

 

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

Madison Carby scored her first goal of the season and Makena Schlosser scored for the second time. Trevecca reaches the post season again, they have advanced to every Great Midwest tournament since joining the conference as a founding member.  

   

WHAT'S NEXT 

The first round match with the ODU Panthers starts at 6:00 PM CT on Saturday, November 9th. The Trojans lead the series 3-2, having won three of the last four including this the most recent meeting just four days ago, a 1-0 win in Columbus on Saturday. ODU defeated TNU in their first meeting this season, a 1-0 win in Nashville on September 28th.
