NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (13-15, 4-4 Great Midwest) dropped a three-set match to conference leader and thirteenth-ranked Hillsdale College (18-3, 7-0 Great Midwest) (15-25, 16-25, 19-25) in Trojan Fieldhouse on Friday.

THE SERIES

The Trojans are 0-5 all-time against the Great Midwest leading Hillsdale Chargers.  

THE MATCH

The Chargers established an early lead in the first set and kept the Trojans at a safe distance most of the set, winning 25-15 … in the second the Trojans battled to an early lead, 3-2, but the Chargers pulled away for a comfortable 15-6 advantage … the Trojans kept pace from there, but could never close the gap below seven in a 25-16 loss … Trevecca jumped out to a 5-1 edge in the third, but with the Trojans leading 7-3, the Chargers mounted a rally and pulled ahead 12-7 with a 9-0 run … Trevecca was not able to regain the lead and lost 25-19

TOP PLAYER

Ellie Buffler led the Trojans with 15 points with 14 kills and a .243 attack percentage while Claire Hindman, the reigning defender of the week, paced the Trojans with 14 digs and five assist   

THE TEAM

The Trojans hit .176 (30 K, 14 E, 91 TA) for the game and .269 (9 K, 2 E, 26 TA) in the third set

WHAT'S NEXT 

Trevecca hosts University of Findlay (6-16, 3-3 Great Midwest) at 11:00 AM on Saturday for Homecoming.

The Trojans are 0-4 all-time against the Findlay Oilers.  

The Trojans end the regular season with a three-game road swing to Tiffin University (12-11, 6-1 Great Midwest), Cedarville University (13-8, 5-2 Great Midwest), and Ohio Dominican University (3-21, 2-6 Great Midwest).
