PHILIPPI, W. Va. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer team (5-8-2, 5-5 Great Midwest) defeated Alderson Broaddus University (2-11, 0-10 Great Midwest), 1-0, on Saturday at MSP Stadium.

THE SERIES

The win improves the Trojans winning streak over the Battlers to six. Trevecca holds an 8-1-1 all-time lead in the series having only ever lost in Philippi. The first all-time meeting was played to a 1-1 draw.

THE MATCH

Annie Warner scored the only goal of the match with less then five minutes gone in the second stanza. Warner scored unassisted in the 50th minute and the Trojans made it stand up. Delayna Holman saved all three shots she faced in goal for the Trojans, picking up her fifth win of the year. The Trojans peppered Alderson Broaddus with 19 shot and nine on goal. Battler keeper Alexis McKeown handled all but one with seven saves.

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

The victory boosts the Trojans into fifth in the G-MAC table keeping their chances of hosting a playoff fixture.

Delayna Holman saved all three shots she faced for the Trojans earning her fourth clean sheet of the season.

The Trojans extend their winning streak over ABU to six, having not conceded a goal to the Battlers since the 2015 season. The Trojans have outscored the Battlers 13-0 over the last six fixtures.

WHAT'S NEXT 

The Trojans play two road games next week at Cedarville (0-0, 0-0 Great Midwest) and Ohio Dominican (0-0, 0-0 Great Midwest).

The Trojans and Yellow Jackets battle on Halloween, Oct. 31 at 3:30 PM. The series favors Trevecca 7-4-3 all-time including a 1-0 victory over Cedarville on Sept. 26 this season.

The Trojans and Panthers kickoff at 11:00 AM on Nov. 2. Ohio Dominican drew level all-time (2-2) with Trevecca by defeating the Trojans 1-0 on Sept. 28 this season.
