PHILIPPI, W. Va. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (3-10-1, 2-8-1 Great Midwest) knocked off Alderson Broaddus University (7-8-1, 5-6-1 Great Midwest) in Great Midwest play on Saturday.

THE SERIES

The Battlers lead the series 6-4, but the Trojans have taken three of the last five meetings.

THE MATCH

The only score of the first half came from the Battlers in the 21st minute … Cillian Farmer got the equalizer late, in the 73rd minute on an assist from Michael Martey, but the fireworks were just starting … a total of four goals were scored in the final 18 minutes and three of those inside the final eight minutes … Reed Coffman made it three in a row for the Trojans with two goals, the first in the 83rd minute on an assist from Michael Jones and the second unassisted in the 85th minute … the Battlers answered one of those to make it a one goal margin with a goal in the 86th minute … there were three goals scored in a span of 2:08 … Trevecca keeper Will Thompson saved six of the eight Battler shots on goal while his counterpart, Eduardo D'Avino saved just three of the six Trojan shots on goal

WHAT'S NEXT 

Trevecca visits Cedarville University (7-2-6, 4-2-5 Great Midwest) next on Thursday, October 31st at 6 PM. The Yellow Jackets own an 11-1-3 advantage in the series. The teams played to a 1-1 draw earlier this season at Trevecca on September 26th.
