PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (10-10, 1-3 Great Midwest) dropped a five-set Great Midwest match 3-2 at Lake Erie College (6-12, 1-3 Great Midwest) 25-22, 21-25, 24-26, 25-20,13-15 on Friday in the Osborne Center.

Lake Erie is 3-0 all-time versus the Trojans.

THE MATCH

Trevecca 2, LEC 3

Trevecca earned the victory 25-22 in the first set, the set featured nine ties and two lead changes, Lake Erie led 20-15 when the Trojans rallied with a 10-2 run for the win … Lake Erie took the next two sets – 25-21 and 26-24 … after watching LEC control the second set, the third was hotly contested with 11 ties, Trevecca pulled ahead late with a 24-23 advantage, but the hosts scored three straight to take a 2-1 edge … Trevecca forced a fifth set with a 25-20 win in the fourth … after LEC took a 2-1 lead, the Trojans pulled ahead 6-2 and never trailed again … the Storm took the fifth set 15-13 and the match …  

TOP PLAYERS

Ellie Buffler delivered a double-double with 19 kills along with 12 digs … Madison Martin also turned in a double-double with 11 kills and 16 digs … Chloee McDaniel served up 42 assists with 16 digs … Claire Hindman picked up another 22 digs

The team remains on the road taking on Ursuline College (1-13, 1-3 Great Midwest) on Saturday morning at 10 AM. Trevecca leads the series with Ursuline, 7-5.
