HOW IT HAPPENED
Trevecca led early, but D&E pulled ahead 22-17 (6:55) with a 6-0 run … Trevecca outscored the host Senators 18-6 over the final six plus minutes fro a 35-28 lead after 20 minutes … Reed Smith led Trevecca with nine first-half points and hit all four of his field goal attempts … the Trojans hit 55% (11-20) from the field in the opening half … the hosts outscored TNU 17-6 to open the half and led 45-41 with 11:52 left in the half … D&E opened the half with a 21-6 run and took a 49-41 lead, but the Trojans were still in touch … the game turned the Senators way for good following a subsequent 12-4 run which took a 49-44 D&E lead and pushed it to 61-48 with 4:45 left in the game … the hot shooting the Trojans found in the first half did not carry over to the second half … in particular, the Trojans hit just 12.5% (3-24) from three-point range in the second half after connecting on 40% (6-15) in the first half.ÂÂ
