MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (13-5-1, 0-0 G-MAC) swept their final two games at the PFX - The Spring Games Friday. Trevecca defeated Christian Brothers University 8-4 and tied with Maryville University – St. Louis 4-4

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES: 

GAME ONE:  Trevecca played Christian Brothers for the eighth time in program history with a record of 6-2 winning the last six games.

GAME TWO:  Trevecca and Marryville University-St Louis were competing in softball for the first time.

GAME CHRONICLE 

GAME ONE: Bailey Alexander started the scoring with a two run home run in the top of the first to give the Trojans a 2-0 lead … CBU knocked in a run in the bottom frame on a single to make the score 2-1 … in the third Alexander hit a three run home run to give the Trojans a 5-1 lead … CBU got a run back in the bottom half of the frame on a solo home run for a 5-2 Trojan lead … Christian Brothers got a single in the fourth to narrow the lead to 5-3 … TNU got two runs on a Mary Collins home run in the fifth to widen their lead to 7-3 … Trevecca got a run on a ground out by Danielle Horton to give TNU an 8-3 lead … Christian Brothers scored a run in the seventh as the final score was in favor of TNU with a mark of 8-4

GAME TWO:  MaKray Odom singled to third scoring Kat Burbrink in the bottom of the second to give TNU a 1-0 lead … MU scored on a single in the fourth to tie the game 1-1 … Mary Collins hit a three run home run in the fifth to give the Trojans a 4-1 lead … Mary ville scored three unanswered runs in the final two innings before the game got called due to darkness for a 4-4 tie between Trevecca and Maryville University – St. Louis.

Trevecca returns to campus in Nashville for the first Great-Midwest Athlets Conference games of the year with Hillsdale College (6-6, 0-0 G-MAC) starting at 1PM on Saturday, March 24th. It is the third meeting for Trevecca and Hillsdale in the NCAA D2 era. The Trojans are 0-2 versus the Chargers.
