NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (7-9, 5-6 G-MAC) fell to the University of Alabama-Huntsville (16-4, 5-2 GSC), 3-2 (25-20, 19-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-10) on Tuesday night in Trojan Fieldhouse.

SERIES HISTORY

The Trojans and Chargers met last season in Huntsville in which UAH won in three sets. The all-time series favors UAH, 6-1. The Trojans only win in the series came in 2015 when they took down the Chargers in four sets.

The Trojans jumped out to an 8-5 lead to start the first set … the Trojans used a 4-0 run to go up 11-7 … the teams were tied at 15-15 before TNU established an 18-17 lead … leading 21-20 the Trojans closed out set one on a 4-0 run … UAH took a 3-0 lead to begin the second set before TNU cut it to 7-5 … the Chargers created separation when they went on a 6-2 run to go up 18-12 … in the third set the Trojans trailed 4-1 and eventually 10-6, but went on an 8-0 to lead 14-10 on Leilani Victor (FR/Hudson, WI)'s service … the run forced a UAH timeout …the Chargers cut it to within one, but would drop the set 25-21 … down 16-10 in the fourth set TNU managed five straight points to pull within one, 16-15 … the teams traded service points and then the Trojans collected two more, to go on a 9-2 run … UAH claimed set four on back-to-back attack errors … the fifth set remained close until UAH got on serve at 8-6 … from there the Chargers went on a 4-0 run to establish a 12-6 lead … UAH finished off the set, 15-10.

TOP TROJANS

Madison Clements (SO/Goshen, KY) led the Trojans with a .316 (8 K, 2 E, 19 TA) attack percentage … Madison Martin (FR/Martinsville, IN) added a team-high 12 kills (12 K, 7 E, 44 TA) … Claire Hindman (FR/Westfield, IN) led the team in dig with 21, though Martin (15) and Lydia Yonce (FR/Nashville, TN) (14) were right behind her … Leilani Victor helped with 22 assists while Hannah Bornemann (FR/Oswego, IL) had 21.

TROJAN TEAM TRENDS

The Trojans hit .158 (13 K, 7 E, 38 TA) in the third set and held the Chargers to -.057 (8 K, 10 E, 35 TA) in the first.

WHAT'S NEXT 

The Trojans conclude their three-game week with a weekend trip to Findlay (13-3, 8-2 G-MAC) on Friday at 6 pm and Hillsdale (12-3, 9-0 G-MAC) on Saturday.

The Trojans dropped both meetings with the Oilers last season and trail the all-time series, 0-2.

Hillsdale swept the Trojans in both meetings last season and own a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series.
