COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (3-13, 0-7 G-MAC) lost a Great Midwest Athletic Conference game in four sets (15-25, 14-25, 25-19, 29-31) to Ohio Dominican University (3-12, 2-5 G-MAC) on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Hall.

Trevecca 1, Ohio Dominican 3

After taking the opening point of the match, the Trojans were unable to establish their offense in set one which had two ties and three lead changes. The Trojans won the opening point of set two before Ohio Dominican used a 7-1 run to take a 7-2 lead. Set two had two ties and three lead changes as well. The Trojans dropped the first point of set three before rallying to take a 5-4 advantage. From there the Trojans wouldn't surrender the lead, taking set three 25-19. In set four, the Trojans continued their pressure and lead early. The set was tight all the way with 22 ties and nine lead changes. Treveca led 23-22, but ODU pulled ahead 25-24, but a kill by Claire Reinthaler (SR/Heyworth, IL) tied the match and Trevecca served for the set at 26-25, 27-26, 28-27, and 29-28 – but each time ODU got the side out and scored three straight to close out the set and the match in 31-29 in extra points.

TOP TROJANS

Jordan Sprinkle (JR/Leopold, IN) led the way for the Trojans with a hitting percentage .316% (9K, 3 E, 19 TA) while Clare Reinthaler added a team high 11 kills … Macee Bingham (FR/Safford, AZ) led the team with 15 digs and her older sister, Miranda Bingham (SR/Safford, AZ) had 16 assists …  Six Trojans had at least two kills as the team combined for a total of 41.

As a team, Trevecca hit .110% (41 K, 23 E, 164 TA) … Ohio Dominican hit .210% (65 K, 28 E, 176 TA)

WHAT'S NEXT 

Trevecca faces conference foe Ohio Valley University (6-10, 2-6 G-MAC) in Vienna, WV on Friday, Oct. 5 at 6:00 PM. This will be the seventh meeting between the two teams in the NCAA era. Trevecca is 3-3 against Ohio Valley losing their last game in 2016 in five sets.
