NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (3-7, 0-1 G-MAC) lost their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference game of the year in five sets (25-20, 25-16, 14-25, 14-25, 10-15) to Kentucky Wesleyan College (5-4, 1-0 G-MAC) on Tuesday at the Trojan Fieldhouse.

The Trojans took an early lead (8-4) in the first set, before using a pair of three point runs to take a 17-9 advantage. The Trojans won set one, 25-20. After establishing a 7-3 advantage in the second set, the Trojans would once again put a flurry of three point runs to take a 17-11 lead. The Trojans finished the second set on a 6-0 run. Madison Clements (FR/Goshen, KY) dominated at the net in the first two sets, hitting .750 (9 K, 0 E, 12 TA). The third set included six ties, which the Trojans dropped 25-14. In the fourth set there were four ties before the Trojans dropped the set 25-14. The Trojans would cut the fifth set deficit to 4-3, before ultimately dropping the set and match 15-10.

Miranda Bingham (SR/Safford, AZ) led the way for the Trojans with a perfect 1,000 % hitting percentage while Madison Clements had a team high 13 kills (.286% - 13 K, 5 #, 28 TA) ... Gracie Pierce (FR/Chattanooga, TN) led the team with 22 digs and Macee Bingham (FR/Safford, AZ) had 14 assists ... seven Trojans had at least three kills as the team combined for a total of 38

As a team the Trojans collected 162 total attacks adding 38 kills for a -.012 hitting percentage ... Trevecca hit .237 and .103 in the first two sets (22 K, 10 E, 67 TA) ... the Trojans 31 assists and 68 digs were not enough to overcome the Panthers

Trevecca faces Malone University (5-3, 0-0 G-MAC) at Trojan Fieldhouse on Friday, Sept. 15 at 6:00 PM. Trevecca is 2-0 against Malone winning both games last year. On Saturday Sept. 16 at 1:00 PM new conference foe Walsh University (6-2, 0-0 G-MAC) comes to Trojan Fieldhouse to take on Trevecca. Trevecca won the only meeting in history with Walsh last year at Trojan Fieldhouse in four sets.
