Box Score XENIA, Ohio - On Friday, April 29 the Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (43-15, 23-3 G-MAC) claimed their fourth consecutive Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) postseason tournament title with another shutout, this one 4-0, against #4 Cedarville University (28-31, 16-12 G-MAC).

TNU refused to allow a Cedarville player to cross the plate in all six games against the Yellow Jackets this year, four in the regular season and two in post season for a total of six shutouts. TNU outscored their opponents in the G-MAC tournament 31-1 in four games. TNU 15-0 in G-MAC tournament games in the four-year history of the league. Trevecca owns all four G-MAC regular season and postseason championships.

This year's championship comes with the added bonus of an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division II regional event. The NCAA selection show will take place on Monday, May 2 at which time the Trojans will find out which of the two regional sites they will compete at and who the will face first.Â

Trevecca was designated the visiting team for the championship game by way of a coin toss.Â

While holding Cedarville scoreless through seven innings, Trevecca plated one run in the first and second innings then added two in the fourth.

Ansley Brantley (SR/Kite, Ga.) hit a lead off home run to put the Trojans on the board early, 1-0.

Mary Collins (FR/Collierville, TN) drew the walk in the second inning and advanced to third on a wild pitch before scoring, 2-0, on a Jordan Griner (SR/Mulberry, Tenn.) double.Â

Again in the fourth, Collins reached on a fielder's choice and Griner connected for a double to drive her home, 3-0. Savannah Carr (FR/Springfield, TN) came in to pinch run for Griner and scored on a Kat Burbrink (SO/Hamilton, Ohio) double, 4-0. Â

Jordan Griner was 2-3, both doubles, with two RBI. Ansley Brantley was 2-3 with one run and one RBI. Kat Burbrink was 2-3 with one RBI.Â

Haley Fagan (SR/Cornersville, Tenn.) is now 34-11 on the year and pitched all seven innings for her 29th complete game of the season and 10th shutout. She struck out three, walked none while letting five hits and holding the Jackets scoreless.

The Trojans are now 15-0 all-time at the G-MAC tournament. The Trojans are 32-3 in their last 35 games. All three losses were by one run and two were in extra innings.

The Trojans are 21-1 all-time versus the Yellow Jackets, taking all four games of the regular season series in Cedarville this year. Â Trevecca is on a 11-game winning streak in the series.

The 43 wins are the most for a Trojan team since the 2011 team collected 48 wins. It is the second 40-win season in a row and the fourth in eight years for head coach Ben Tyree. In addition to last year's 40 wins and the 2011 team's 48 wins, the 2010 team won 44 games. It is the seventh 40-win season in the last 11 years for Trevecca softball program. The 2007 team, led by Ernie Reynolds, tops the list with 59 wins.

Haley Fagan's 34 wins this season is the fourth most in program history. Only Brittiany Johnson has produced more wins in a season. Johnson pitched three years and had a 42, 39, and a 35 win season.

The wins today give her 73 in her career. Fagan is now 73-23 and is second on the all-time wins list.

Trevecca is 84-8 in official G-MAC regular season and postseason games. During the regular season Trevecca is 69-8 in G-MAC play. At the G-MAC postseason championship, Trevecca is 15-0.
